Smilax is the product we ship most, every week of the year. This hub is where we put everything we know about it: how much you need for each installation, how it's harvested and packed, the difference between our varieties, and how to keep it fresh once it lands. Whether you're a bride doing it yourself or a florist installing every weekend, start here.

Two boxes for planning ceremony and reception together: one L and one XL of fresh Smilax. Divide the material between named installations so you can see what is included in your greenery planâand what still needs a separate allowance.
Choose an alternative below, or use the explicit combined example. Do not add all the listed uses together and assume this one package covers them.
Allocate the L box to the approximately 8 Ă 8 ft arch reference and the XL to the aisle reference of 20 ft on each side. Together these use the full 330 ft conservative planning allocation. Reception tables and chandeliers are not included in that allocation.
An alternative is to reserve the L for the arch and distribute the XL between measured table runners and a bar edge. Define table count, decorated length, passes and tails before assuming a full reception is covered.
The published allowances are 120 ft for the arch and 70 ft for each 12â15 ft head-table run: 260 ft combined. The remaining 70 ft of the packageâs low-end planning quantity can be allocated deliberately; do not promise it as guaranteed leftover.
Substitute a measured entrance design for the arch rather than adding it on top. Doorways, aisle runs and chandeliers compete for the same total material supply.
Illustrative split: allocate 120 ft to the published arch reference. For reception, six 8 ft runners with two vine passes use 96 ft; one 10 ft bar-edge treatment with three passes and 4 ft of tails uses 34 ft. The measured reception portion totals 130 ft, or 143 ft with a 10% allowance. Combined planning total: 263 ft. This is one defined layoutânot a claim that every wedding fits two boxes.
Planning allowance: 10% in the measured examples is an explicit allowance for overlap, trimming and adjustments, not a measured loss rate or a guarantee. No extra 10% has been added to the published box-reference allocations.
If the wedding includes the full arch, aisle, guest tables and overhead installations, calculate every part before ordering. âFull Weddingâ describes the packageâs intended use, not a guarantee for any guest count or venue size.
Plan all your installations or send your dimensions and inspiration photo before ordering.
Garden roses for focal clusters and ranunculus for smaller accents. Allocate flowers separately; none are included in this Smilax package.
Browse greenery to add contrasting leaf shapes. Mixing foliage changes the amount of Smilax required.
Compare individual boxes and wholesale variants for a different quantity. Do not substitute the footage of loose vines for the finished length of a pre-made garland.
No. It contains the two boxes stated above. Flowers, structures, fasteners and installation are not included, and the number of projects depends on their dimensions and finish.
No. These are approximate lengths of loose vine. Layering, wrapping, foliage density, trimming and hanging tails change the finished coverage. Reference layouts are starting points, not promises of a specific visual thickness.
Only after adding their separate material allowances. The listed installation alternatives do not all fit simultaneously. The worked combination explains exactly what has been counted.
Box sizes come from our current product variants. Reference installations come from our product guide and Smilax DIY guide. Measured examples show their arithmetic explicitly and still require a design check.
